“One of our main focuses is to put books in the hands of Cloverdale kids,” explains Julie Carter, current club co-President, “and the COVID-19 crisis isn’t stopping us!” On Saturday, October 3, the Kiwanis Club will host its second Pandemic Book Giveaway from 10 am to 2 pm on the lot at the north side of Ace Hardware.
“During our first pandemic book giveaway on August 1, more than 600 books found new homes,” Carter said. “The Kiwanis Club was especially happy to welcome many young families to the event!”
The Kiwanis Club continues to provide free books every month to Cloverdale children under five years of age via the Cloverdale chapter of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Families may register to receive books at CloverdaleImaginationLibrary.org. Kiwanis also provides 100’s of books to children at Jefferson and Washington schools every year.
