Our loved one and my father Dwayne John Petrich, almost 97 years of age, passed away November 20, 2024. He was never truly happy without his beloved wife Edie. We are content knowing they will unite in God’s new world where “He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Rev. 21:4
He loved his family, friends, the desert and of course his cars, trucks, and trailers! They spend many years wintering on the Colorado River and visiting family and friends in Iowa and Northern California. Together they made a good life for themselves and lived the life they wanted for 67 years!
He loved to talk about his years in the Navy at the end of World War Two, spending time in Guam and Washington D.C. He was proud of his time in the service. He was the oldest surviving member of the local American Legion.
He is survived by his daughter Cindy/Curt Jessen, granddaughters Autumn Lopez/Jacob, Camille Jessen, and grandson Jake/Karli Jessen, great-grandchildren Maile, Bella, Kaia and Reed. He adored them and they will miss him. He is also survived by his sisters Elaine, Marilyn, and Marlys and brothers George and Charlie Petrich, and his cousin Margo Petrich, and many nieces and nephews.
Service will be at a later date. Many thanks go out to Providence Hospice, Cloverdale Better Living, and his wonderful caregivers Robin, Jorin and Cris! You made all the difference.
