The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines “gratitude” as “the state of being grateful” and defines “thanksgiving” as “a pubic acknowledgement” or celebration of divine goodness”. November is here and with that “fire season” is in the rear-view mirror, the holiday season is on the horizon, the election is over and the end of 2020 is in sight. I am grateful for good health, a roof over my head, enough to eat, family and friends who love me and that the Cloverdale community has embraced and appreciated Cloverdale Connect. I encourage everyone to focus on what is positive and to actively support our Cloverdale community non-profits and service clubs this holiday season so they can help our neighbors with food, toys for the kids, scholarship money and more. This has been a rough year for just about everyone and although our holiday celebrations may look different this year, tell people you love them – by a text, a card in the mail, by Zoom. I’ve had a sign on my front door for years that says “Be Nice or Leave” Let’s make a daily effort to be nice, to be kind, to be patient, and to be generous. Let’s be grateful.

I’ll see you around town!
