It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our esteemed friend, Darrell Lee Petersen. Darrell relocated to Cloverdale as a child, with his parents, Bert and Virginia Petersen, moving from Tacoma, Washington. Darrell had four brothers and two sisters. In his early years, he met Bobbie Jean Petersen (Durbin), with whom he established a devoted family life. He is
survived by three children and nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Throughout his life, Darrell was committed to his roles as husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, fulfilling each with sincerity, humility, and unwavering faith.
In his professional career, Darrell was a dedicated carpenter, contributing significantly to the construction of numerous homes across Cloverdale. He was widely respected for both his appreciation of the community and his readiness to assist others, embodying generosity and reliability. Darrell valued not only his family and personal experiences but also his friendships, which spoke to his character.
To honor his memory, his brothers will share reflections on his life on September 13th at 4:00PM at 27100 Dutcher Creek Road (Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses). As an active member of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Darrell found great purpose in sharing the hope of God’s Kingdom and the assurance of resurrection to life in a restored paradise on earth. His integrity and compassion left a meaningful legacy among all who knew him. While his absence is deeply felt, we draw comfort from the words of Revelation 21:4 “He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more.” We look forward to the time when we may be reunited in the promised
new world.
We recognize the demands on everyone’s schedules; nevertheless, we welcome all friends and acquaintances to join us in remembering Darrell according to his wishes. The Petersen Family extends an invitation to all to attend the service. Following the gathering, all are invited for refreshments and fellowship at the Veterans building at 5:00 PM.
