Here we are halfway through 2021, hard to believe! The good news is that Governor Newsom announced June 15 that the state of California would fully reopen which is much awaited news for many businesses who were either closed completely during the pandemic or only able to allow a small amount of people in their facility. We are thrilled to be fully reopened. I am happy to announce that we will be bringing back our Covia/Front Porch wholesale produce market on Fridays, 10:00, start date June 25 (except July 2 as we will be closed in observance of the Independence holiday). On July 8, 10-11:30, the Senior Center will host a focus group in coordination with Sonoma County Department of Health Services and Center for Well-Being on the subject of farmers markets and the accessibility to them for seniors. One of the topics will be what available subsidies/discounts for purchasing nutritious foods there are. For your participation in the focus group, you will receive a $25 gift certificate for a grocery store. Please call the Senior Center, 894-4826 to sign up.
The Senior Center will be hosting a five part nutrition education series paired with cooking classes courtesy of Catholic Charities of Santa Rosa starting this month, please call for further details. We continue with Haircuts with Anna, Podiatrist by appointment, Bingo, Yoga, Chair Yoga, Qi Gong Practice, Bean Bag Baseball and Strength Training. Card Games will resume this month and soon we will begin with a lunch program.
We ask at this time that all members who are not fully vaccinated continue to wear their facemask when they enter the building, those who are fully vaccinated may enter without their mask. Please do not join any activity or visit us if you are exhibiting symptoms that could be related to Covid, we appreciate your cooperation.
