Farmyard Feed, owned by the Cook family, opened its doors 10 years ago, in April 2011. The Cook’s goal at the very beginning was to provide a feed store for their household, local residents, ranchers and farmers who had no choice but to go to out of town to purchase their ranch feed, household pet food, supplies and stock.

When you stop by Farmyard Feed, you’ll find Mary, Merilu, or Heather available to answer questions and help you find what you’re looking for.

Just before the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Cooks added a small nursery to the back of the store. Featuring mostly succulents right now, it could easily be expanded. “We welcome small growers wishing to use our shop to sell, barter, or share produce which they have an over-abundance of. Hosting a local, grassroots produce exchange is also something Farmyard Feed is willing to do if there are individuals willing to organize and promote that effort,” said owner and garden enthusiast Mai Cook.

In addition to having cage-free fresh eggs daily, Farmyard Feed also stocks pet birds, bearded dragon lizards, chickens and ducks and was just was chosen to be the area distributor for American Metal Buildings. There are many styles to choose from and prices include set-up and delivery.

And if having a feed, pet supply and small garden isn’t enough, Fleur de Mai, a collection of gifts from all over the world, is also on the premises. Brought back from the family’s travels, you’ll find interesting clothes, accessories and a host of other gift ideas.

Come by, help them celebrate their 11th year and see what Farmyard Feed offers to the Cloverdale community. They’re open Monday through Saturday at 27709 Dutcher Creek Road. For more information call 707-894-5992, or visit them on Facebook at Farmyard Feed and Country Store
