Cemetery Story Update

Mary Jo Winter, the author of the history article about the cemetery monument that appeared in last month’s issue of Cloverdale Connect, received a phone call from 102-year old Harold Peters who lives here in Cloverdale. It seems his aunt from Iowa married Farley Abshire, Susie Abshire’s husband, and they lived together on a Geyserville ranch until both of them passed. Harold came to California when he was about one and a half. He and his family lived with Farley and his aunt until he was about seven. He said he “was totally blown away to see the article” and has always wanted to go up and find the monument, but never got around to it. Now he wishes he had.
