Comedians Marc Yaffee, Adam Stone and Nicole Tran are coming to the Cloverdale Citrus Fairgrounds outdoors and
under the stars for one night only on July 24th at 8pm. All seats are social distanced seats and no masks are required. Tickets going on sale now. You can purchase tickets for 1 person or up to a table of 8 people. There are only 200 tickets available and 100 have already sold. It’s clean comedy and all ages are welcome.

If you are holding March 28 Marc Yaffe tickets, this is the rescheduled show for ticket holders.

Purchase tickets in advance at the Cloverdale Fire Dept. with $5.00 of every advance ticket sold at the fire station going directly to the Fire Department. There will be a full bar provided by Cloverdale Fire Dept. Come out for a night of comedy under the stars July 24th!

Tina Reuser Dogali was a caring friend, a loving daughter, a protective sister, and a wonderful mother. Tina grew up in Sonoma County but spent some time in Colorado and Nebraska. She loved being part of the family business and worked her way through the company doing everything from picking sticks to washing trucks to being a loader operator and finally, settling into the office as dispatcher.

Tina is survived by her son, Henry Dogali, her father, Bruce Reuser and her “mom” Darlene Reuser. She also leaves behind her siblings, John Reuser (Starla), Tammy Johnson (Tim), Merle Reuser (Peggy), Paula Mello (Bryant), Bobbie Kitson (David), Elissa Kalista (Joshua), Amanda Higgins (August), and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Loretta Bernhardy Sells and her step-mother, Soleda Higgins Reuser. In lieu of flowers the family asks that in the spirit of Tina commit a random act of kindness for someone in need.

The Cloverdale Lions cooked up a great Father’s Day Breakfast once again this year with pancakes, eggs, sausage and coffee at the Citrus Fair.

Cloverdale’s Rotary Club recently completed their latest project, a “little library” modeled after Cloverdale’s old schoolhouse. The books are furnished by the Cloverdale Kiwanis Club so it is a collaborative service organization
project. The new “little library” is located at the corner of School St. and N. Cloverdale Blvd., just south of Cloverdale High School.

Every 4th of July, thousands of dogs around the US go missing. The sound of fireworks is so loud and unusual that it frightens them into hiding and running away. Here are some steps you can take to prevent this from happening to your dog.
1) Make sure your dog has identification including a collar with tag (worn at all times) and a registered microchip. This will ensure his quick return should he go missing.
2) Secure your home on and around the 4th. Ideally your dog will be inside the house with windows and doors closed. If outside, make sure the fence and gates are in good order. I once saw an old Labrador scale a six foot fence after hearing firecrackers!
3) Don’t take your dog to events. While socializing with your dog is fun, if he runs away in an unfamiliar area he may be much harder to find.
4) Use only safe and sane fireworks at home. If you’re not a pet owner you may not be aware of the impact that illegal fireworks have on pets. Be a good neighbor and enjoy the big fireworks at a legal and safe show.

When sending in your old passport for renewal the Dept. of State recommends that applicants use a trackable shipping method, such as Priority Mail Express. It is recommended that applicants mail their documents in a sturdy envelope such as a Tyvek envelope, which will protect damage in transit.

You May Need to Renew Sooner Than You Think
Don’t take your passport’s expiration date at face value. Some countries have a six-month or three-month passport validity rule that requires your passport to be valid for a certain amount of time after your date of entry.

Your Passport Has Identity Theft Deterrents
If your passport was issued after August 2007, you’ve got an e-passport with a small integrated chip in the back cover that stores your passport information and a biometric identifier based on your photograph. There are metallic
elements in the cover of the passport, making it impossible for the passport to be digitally “read” until it’s physically open.

Weight Change? You May Need a New Passport
If you’ve lost (or gained) a lot of weight, so much so that you look different than you do in your passport photo, you’ll need a new passport. The same is true or if you’ve added or removed large facial tattoos or piercings.

Photo Restrictions
The photo must have been taken within six months of your application date, and must reflect your current appearance. You must directly face the camera and your expression should be neutral. According to the Bureau of Consular Affairs, “Photos with exaggerated expressions and squinting will not be accepted.” And uniforms and “clothing that looks like a uniform” are forbidden as well.

Damage Can Render Your Passport Invalid
If your passport has been significantly damaged, it’s time for a new one. Water damage, significant tearing (especially on the book cover or the page with your personal data and photo), unofficial marking on the data page, and torn out visa pages are among the types of damage that will likely mean you’ll need to apply for a replacement.

As we all dive into our first post-Covid summer I reached out to my tribe to get some ideas on how we can all support each other and our community while re-engaging with society. HUGE thanks and love to Savannah Snyde, Jenn Craig, Ashley Porter and of course my mom Jude for helping round out some great ideas!

1. Consider bringing a water bottle along on walks with your pups through neighborhoods, so as they do their business you can sprinkle over their tinkle so to speak to help keep it from burning lawns that are running on precious little water and to show respect to those who have worked hard to keep lawns green.
2. Rock it old school and bake a yummy treat to either welcome a new neighbor to the neighborhood or an old one to remind them how appreciated they are.
3. Offer some of the fruits of your labors in your garden to an elderly friend/neighbor in need.
4. If you know someone is older or disabled in some way when walking, take their paper from their driveway and put it on their porch to save them from going out into the heat.
5. Offer water to your mail carrier, garbage pick-up guys or honestly anyone looking in need!
6. When out walking, carry a bag to pick up garbage along the way.
7. The chalk revolution does not need to end with quarantine! Leave a message of hope or even a bucket of chalk so kids walking by can color and create some joy.
8. Remember to ask permission before hugging someone as you may not know what their current anxieties are on the subject.
9. Embrace patience. Everyone has been through the same storm the last year +, but not all in the same boat. Slow down and be mindful that we all recover from traumas at a different pace, so be kind.
10. Lastly and one of the most important, as many of us celebrate the mask restrictions being lifted, please remember many will still be wearing masks and often it will not be Covid related at all. Again, an exercise in respect, we have no idea why others may still have a need. Don’t take it personally, just be happy that you don’t have to any longer and let it go.
